Fees & insurance

What it costs – and how your insurer can contribute

The intro call is free. Your health insurer can contribute to the cost of the counselling itself.

It starts with a diagnosis, such as diabetes, raised blood lipids or significant excess weight. Your doctor then confirms on a certificate of necessity (ärztliche Notwendigkeitsbescheinigung) that you need nutrition counselling.

Many insurers then cover part of the cost; each decides for itself how much. Before we start, I tell you what to expect and write you a cost estimate for your insurer.

My qualification

I am certified as Qualifizierte Diät- und Ernährungsberaterin VFED. Many health insurers recognise this qualification for a contribution to the cost of nutrition counselling. Whether your insurer pays, and how much, is something we clarify beforehand.

Common questions

Do I need a doctor’s certificate for an insurance contribution?
Yes. You need no referral for the counselling itself, but for a contribution from your insurer you need a certificate from your doctor that nutrition counselling is necessary. Whether and how much the insurer then pays is its own decision.
Which language do sessions take place in?
In German, Turkish or English – you choose, and we can switch mid-conversation. The written summary comes in whichever language we spoke.
Do I need a referral?
No – you can get in touch directly. If a medical assessment would make sense, I will say so in the session.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both, at the same price. Many people combine them: the first session in person, follow-ups online.
